A golf tournament unlike any other, the Greater Bohemian Open, returns to Cottonwood Creek Golf Course next Saturday, Aug. 5. This four-person scramble features players performing unusual golf skills, such as driving from a toilet and putting with a pool cue or croquet mallet. Shotgun start is set for 8 a.m. The unique golf outing benefits Special Olympics Texas.

Registration for the tournament is online at www.sotx.org/greaterbohemian. Cost to play is $65 per player if registered prior to the event. Event-day registration will be $75 per golfer. A four-man Gold Team is $500, which includes a sponsor sign and free beverages all day. The fee includes (per player): a round of golf, breakfast and lunch, hole prizes, awards and more.

Proceeds from the event, now in its fifth year, will help fund Special Olympics sports competitions, programming and training for more than 1,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities from Waco and the surrounding Heart of Texas area.
