Ex-Robinson hurler and minor-league veteran Matt Wright reached a milestone this week.

Wright won his 100th career game Monday night, lasting 52/3 innings and allowing only one run on three hits for the Sugar Land Skeeters. Originally signed by the Atlanta Braves in the 21st round of the 2000 MLB draft, Wright ran his career record to 100-92, appearing in over 300 career minor league games over a 15 year span.

This season, Wright leads the Atlantic League Freedom Division in strikeouts with 117 and ranks second in batting average, having only allowed a .230 clip. The durable Wright ranks fourth in innings pitched with 1331/3 and fifth in the league in wins.

The Skeeters currently find themselves in second place behind the York Revolution.

Ex-Midway pitcher excels

Aaron Wilkerson is starting off strong.

While pitching for the Lowell Spinners, the Class A short season affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, the former Midway pitcher is putting up solid numbers.

In six games started this season, Wilkerson has a 4-1 record and has posted a 2.06 ERA. Wilkerson leads all starters on the Spinners in ERA and finds himself second on the team in wins.

In his six starts, Wilkerson has only allowed more than one earned-run in one start. His best night proved to be against Williamsport earlier this month, where he hurled seven shutout innings, allowing only three hits and striking out six.

Wilkerson was named the New York-Penn league pitcher of the week after his first two starts, in which he threw a combined 13 innings and gave up only two runs.
