LOWER SUSSEX, Del. — Asia Pacific snatched the lead late and took a 3-1 win over the District 9 all-star squad from Central Texas at the Senior League Softball World Series on Wednesday.
After winning its World Series opener, 2-1, over Latin America, the District 9 Little League Senior softball team battled into the night with the host team, Delaware, at Connie Mack Field in Lower Sussex, Delaware.
Five years ago, Chance Bacon watched from the stands as his daughter’s Robinson team went to the World Series in Portland where they eventually lost in the semifinals by one run. Despite the success from that season, the next year that group didn’t want to compete in Little League ball anymore.
Stand up for an ovation, Central Texas, for a pair of local Little League all-star squads are headed to the World Series.
