MART — The fourth-ranked Panthers made it look all too easy in a stampede over the Longhorns.
Mart (6-1, 2-0) built a 76-0 lead by halftime, and absolutely dominated in all phases of the game. The Panthers actually ran only 14 offensive plays on the night, but scored seven touchdowns on those plays.
Talk about efficient – Zamar Kirven scored all five times he touched the ball for Mart. Kirven caught two touchdown passes from Jace Terry, returned two fumbles for scores and also took back a kickoff to paydirt as well.
Mart scored six times on defense and special teams, including a punt return runback from Jalon Kirven.
Terry threw three TD passes in all, including a 41-yard strike to Anthony Saucedo. Shatydrick Bailey ran for a pair of touchdowns, while Tyrek Horne and Kyler Martin had one TD run apiece. Bailey also scored on a blocked punt return and a fumble return.
Mart, which tried to milk clock and run the ball as much as possible, did not actually set a school record for scoring, as that mark is 94.
