Late roundup

#4 Cameron Yoe 37, Whitney 8: In Whitney, the Yoemen scored 23 unanswered points in the second half to pull away.

Cameron Yoe (3-1), a three-time defending state champion, led 14-8 after Whitney QB Ashton Leech scored a third-quarter TD, but Traion Smith ran for 127 yards and four touchdowns — three of which came from 34, 4 and 3 yards after halftime.

Whitney (3-1) will have next week off before opening district play on the road against McGregor.

Abbott 22, Blum 16: In Abbott, a year after Blum won an all-out shootout, 116-88, in its regular season meeting with Abbott, the Panthers claimed a defensive struggle.

Cade Ramsey caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Zane Cooper with 7:23 to go, and that proved to be the game-winner for Abbott (2-1), which bounced back from last week’s loss to Calvert.

Ramsey led the Panthers in rushing with 72 yards and a score on 11 attempts and added two receptions for 49 yards and the clinching TD.

Nolan Coburn touchdown strikes of 7 and 4 yards for Blum (3-1).
