La Vega 33, Burnet 28: Jamal Williams threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns, and La Vega overcame a 14-0 deficit for a surprising home win.

The Pirates (4-5, 3-1 District 13-4A Division I) added 327 yards on the ground, 174 of which came from Cameron Henry, who scored once.

Burnet (7-2, 3-1) nearly matched La Vega’s offensive output with 502 yards, but the Pirates forced three critical turnovers.

Gatesville 35, Robinson 28: In Gatesville, Jeff Speer threw for 133 yards and an for 159 more and three scores to help the Hornets spring the upset.

It was a back and forth game all night that featured a 99-yard touchdown pass from Michael Davila to Colton Goette for Robinson (6-3, 2-2 District 13-4A Division I) and a 42-yard fumble return for a score from Gatesville’s Matthew Bell.

The game wasn’t decided until Alex Thompson punched it in from 8 yards out with 16 seconds to go to lift the Hornets (4-5, 2-2) to victory.

Mount Calm 77, Trinidad 32: David Alonso threw for four touchdowns as Mount Calm sewed up a share of first district championship.

Mount Calm, in its third year of varsity football after a 54-year layoff, improves to 8-1 overall and 3-0 in District 15-1A Div. II. Kaleb Barott ran for 162 yards and five touchdowns for the Panthers, while Ontario Harden added 145 yards rushing.
