Aaron Wilkerson is headed to “The Show.”
The Milwaukee Brewers called up the right-handed pitcher from Double-A Biloxi (Miss.) on Friday. Wilkerson, 28, is a former high school standout at Midway.
This season at Biloxi, he tallied an 11-4 record with a 3.16 ERA and 143 strikeouts in 142.1 innings. He has a 35-17 career record in the minors, but hadn’t made it to the big leagues before Friday. He’ll become the sixth former Midway player to play in the majors, joining Andy Hawkins, Brian Barkley, Zach Duke, Casey Fossum and Thomas Field.
