The Baylor women’s basketball program announced its nonconference schedule on Wednesday, consisting of eight home contests inside the Ferrell Center.
The seven-time defending Big 12 regular season champs get things started with a pair home exhibition contests — Tarleton State on Oct. 31 and Washburn on Nov. 6 — before tipping off the regular season against Lamar on Nov. 10.
The Lady Bears then host Coppin State and Central Arkansas on Nov. 12 and Nov. 14, respectively.
Following the five-game home stand, Baylor flies to Los Angeles to battle UCLA. A year ago, the Lady Bears topped the Bruins, 84-70, in Waco.
From there, the Lady Bears head to Bimini, Bahamas, for the Junkanoo Jam tournament, where they will compete in the Junkanoo Division.
Baylor is slated to open tournament action against Missouri State on Nov. 23 and will face either Penn or Georgia Tech on Nov. 25.
The Lady Bears will return to the Ferrell Center to host Kentucky in the annual Big 12/SEC Challenge on Nov. 30.
The Wildcats, who return nine of 11 eligible players from last year, advanced to the second round in their eighth-straight NCAA Tournament before falling to Ohio State.
The teams are an even 2-2 in the all-time series, with Baylor winning the most recent contest, 74-64, in 2014 in Lexington.
Two more nonconference home games remain — against North Dakota on Dec. 5 and McNeese State on Dec. 13 — before the Lady Bears head to coach Kim Mulkey’s home state of Louisiana for the New Orleans Shootout.
Baylor is scheduled to play South Florida on Dec. 20 and Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 21.
