Houston Lamar defensive lineman Joshua Landry continued Baylor’s remarkable spring recruiting haul as he made a verbal commitment Friday morning.
The 6-2, 245-pound Landry is Baylor’s seventh verbal commitment in six days. The three-star recruit is the first defensive line commitment in the 2018 class which has grown to 12 players.
Landry’s commitment comes a day after Silsbee receiver Kalon Barnes made a verbal commitment Thursday night.
The 5-11, 172-pound Barnes is a three-star recruit who is one of the fastest players in the state as he’s been timed at 10.35 seconds in the 100 meters and 21.33 in the 200 meters.
As a junior last fall, he made 34 catches for 683 yards and eight touchdowns.
The Bears received verbal commitments Sunday from Cibolo Steele defensive back JT Woods, Clear Brook cornerback Mark Milton, Hempstead defensive back Delarrin Turner-Yell and Mansfield receiver Jackson Gleeson.
On Monday, New Caney Porter defensive back Christian Morgan announced his commitment to Baylor.
