Baylor junior cornerback Xavien Howard announced on Monday that he will enter the NFL draft and forgo his senior year.
Howard made first-team all-Big 12 as a junior as he collected a team-high five interceptions and 10 pass breakups while making 42 tackles. He has started the last two seasons for the Bears.
Howard is the second Baylor junior to declare for the draft as he joins All-America receiver Corey Coleman. All-America junior defensive tackle Andrew Billings hasn’t yet announced his decision.
With the loss of Howard, the Bears will return three starters in the secondary, including cornerback Ryan Reid and safeties Orion Stewart and Chance Waz.
