Baylor senior outside hitter Katie Staiger has been named a unanimous Preseason All-Big 12 selection, selected by a vote of the league’s head coaches and announced Wednesday by the conference office.
The Plano native found herself at the top of the record books last season, notching 698 kills in 2016 to break the program’s single-season kills record. She also finished with the fourth-most kills in the country, pacing the Bears with 6.00 kills per set.
The 2016 Second Team All-American looks to continue climbing the program records list as she is eighth in career kills with 1,343 entering her redshirt senior season.
The Big 12 will release the 2017 preseason poll on Thursday.
