Baylor volleyball’s Top 25 ranking should improve soon enough.
The No. 24 Bears completed a season sweep of 19th-ranked Iowa State on Saturday, turning back the Cyclones, 25-19, 25-22, 25-17, at the Ferrell Center. Baylor (20-5 overall, 10-2 Big 12) hit .302 against the Cyclones and has now topped .300 hitting for three of the past four matches.
Yossiana Pressley blasted a match-leading 14 kills for the Bears, while teammate Aniah Philo contributed 13 kills with a .320 hitting percentage. Braya Hunt picked up a career-high 12 digs to lead Baylor defensively.
Alexis Conaway smashed 10 kills for Iowa State (17-5, 7-4), but she hit just .192 on the match, which matched the team’s output. Iowa State’s top hitter percentage-wise was freshman Avery Rhodes of Midway, who tagged six kills in seven swings for an .857 percentage.
Baylor will have a bye Wednesday before facing No. 12 Kansas in Lawrence, Kan., next Saturday.
