MANHATTAN, Kan. — With Aniah Philo diving around for a career-best 23 digs, Baylor’s 25th-ranked volleyball team pulled out a gritty 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 25-11 win over Kansas State on Saturday.
Baylor (16-4, 6-1 Big 12) won for the fourth straight outing and the 11th time in the past 12 matches.
Baylor’s defense was strong behind Philo, Jana Brusek (15 digs) and Katie Staiger (13 digs). The Bears also got the job done at the net, with Camryn Freiberg turning back six shots and Shelly Fanning adding four blocks.
Yossiana Pressley had a big night attacking with 20 kills. Staiger added 14, Philo had 12 and Freiberg contributed 10. Both Staiger and Philo registered double-doubles. Hannah Lockin produced 54 assists for the Bears, who will host No. 9 Kansas on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
