MANHATTAN, Kan. — Baylor’s volleyball team did something it hadn’t done since Sept. 3, 1993. The Bears went to Ahearn Field House against Kansas State Saturday and swept the Wildcats, 25-18, 25-17, 25-11, for Baylor’s fifth match win in a row.

A rigorous stretch of action awaits the Baylor volleyball team, which will play three matches in the span of the next six days, starting with Kansas State on the road Saturday.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Baylor’s Shelly Fanning had a career-high 20 kills in the Bears’ come-from-behind win over West Virginia in Saturday. The final score was 22-25, 13-25, 25-22, 25-20, 17-15.

The No. 21 Baylor volleyball team will try to get back on the winning track when it hosts Oklahoma Friday at the Ferrell Center.

Following a school-record performance on Saturday, Baylor volleyball sophomore Yossiana Pressley was named the Big 12’s Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

SAN ANTONIO — Baylor volleyball senior Aniah Philo set a new career high in kills for the second time this season, smacking 20 in a five-set win over UT-San Antonio, 25-21, 20-25, 26-28, 25-20, 15-9, on Friday at the UTSA Convocation Center.

Baylor volleyball is No. 15 in the lastest AVCA Coaches Poll. The Bears had been ranked No. 12 in the previous poll, but they fell to No. 9 UCLA and No. 16 San Diego State last week.

SAN DIEGO — Despite a career-best 24 kills from Yossiana Pressley, the 12th-ranked Baylor volleyball team lost in four sets to 19th-ranked San Diego on Saturday night. The host team of the tournament took down the Bears, 25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-23.
