The 10th-ranked Texas Longhorns soccer team punched in the winning goal in the 97th minute to take a 1-0 win over Baylor on Friday night in the Bears’ home finale at Betty Lou Mays Field.
Baylor controlled the attack for much of the night, outlasting Texas in shots (20-9), corner kicks (5-1), and shots on goal (6-2), but the late push by the Longhorns knocked the Bears down to 2-3-2 in overtime matches in 2017.
The Longhorns pushed up the sideline, crossing it into the box. With UT forward Katie Glenn breaking simultaneously with the kick, narrowly avoiding an offsides call, Texas drilled in the golden goal to steal the win.
Baylor will close out the regular season at TCU on Oct. 27.
