HOUSTON — After moving their game up a day due to the threat of Hurricane Harvey, Baylor and Rice played to a 0-0 tie in Thursday night’s soccer game.
Both teams had chances to win in overtime. In the second overtime, both goal keepers recorded saves. Rice’s Maya Hoyer saved a shot by Baylor’s Marissa Kinsey before Baylor’s Hannah Parrish saved a shot by Lianne Mananquil.
In the first overtime, Parrish saved a shot by Rice’s Annie Walker. Hoyer finished the night with seven saves while Parrish collected three. The Bears are now 2-0-1 after their first road game of the season while Rice is 1-1-1.
Baylor’s game at Houston Baptist on Sunday has been postponed due to the hurricane. The schools will attempt to make up the game at a later date.
