Louise P. Mexia

June 30, 1923 - Feb 4, 2018

Louise P. Mexia, 94, peacefully passed away on Feb. 4, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Born in Atwood, California, to Pete and Christina Perez, Louise moved to Texas after she wed Henry Mexia, Jr. They were married for 62 years. They had four children, Louis Mexia, Lucy Rogers, Christine Scott, and Laura Lewis; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Louise never knew a stranger. Her love for cooking, sewing, baking, and gardening was a blessing to all. She was very active in volunteer work which included the Ladies Altar Society and Meals on Wheels in Big Spring, Texas. She will forever be in our hearts.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m., Thursday, February 8, with a Rosary to follow at Connally-Compton Funeral Directors, 4400 West Waco Dr., Waco, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 9, at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, 9820 Chapel Road, Waco, Texas.

My prayers and sympathy are extended to the family and loved ones of Mrs. Mexia. Keep your faith in the resurrection promised at John 5:28, 29. Soon God will put an end to all sickness, sorrow and pain. He will also do away with our enemy death as promised at 1 Corinthians 15:26. Pray for God's kingdom to come as Jesus taught us to do. Please be comforted by the words expressed at Revelation 21:3, 4. Remember: God keeps His promises and it is impossible for God to lie!
