A 36-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday night with injuries that were not life threatening after Waco police officers responded to an auto-pedestrian crash and found him lying on Clay Avenue, Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said in a press release.

Police responded to the crash at 11th Street and Clay at about 11:15 p.m., and the vehicle had left the scene after striking the man, Swanton said.

The victim was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center with a broken leg, he said. Witnesses are asked to contact police at 750-7500 as the investigation continues.
