Crawford burglary

Crawford police are seeking help identifying the man in this photo. Police believe he broke into Crawford Food Mart and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes early Thanksgiving morning. No arrests have been made.

Police are searching for a man suspected of breaking into the Crawford Food Store and stealing cash and cigarettes early Thanksgiving morning, Crawford Police Chief Clay Bruton said.

Officers were called to the store at 6756 N. Lone Star Parkway shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday when its alarm system went off. Police discovered a secondary door in the front of the business was open and appeared damaged.

Bruton said officers reviewed surveillance video and saw a man enter the store, walk directly to a cash register and steal an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

Bruton said officers believe the man drove around the closed business several times before using a crowbar to force the door open. He left the area in a car before police arrived.

No arrest had been made by Tuesday, Bruton said. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact the Crawford Police Department at 486-2678 or 717-8149.

The surveillance video is available on the Crawford Police Department Facebook page.
