A 17-year-old Midway Independent School District student was arrested Tuesday after police say he was selling prescription pills on school property, Woodway Director of Public SafetyYost Zakhary said.

Conner Zorn, of Waco, was arrested at Midway High School at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday after a Woodway school resource officer was notified by Midway administrators about an incident involving Zorn. Zakhary said Zorn had several prescription pills, thought to be hydrocodone, on him and he was reportedly selling the drugs on campus.

Zakhary said Zorn was arrested on two third-degree felony charges of delivery of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone. He was taken to McLennan County Jail before he posted a $20,000 surety bond and was released Wednesday.

Midway ISD spokeswoman Traci Marlin said administrators are aware of the arrest, but no other information is available because of student privacy laws. Marlin said a notice was not sent to parents about the arrest, because there was no immediate danger to students or staff.
