A 77-year-old Robinson man was arrested late Wednesday night after he threatened a woman with a knife and hit her several times in the face, Robinson Police Chief Phillip Prasifka said.

Victor Fuentes Jr. was arrested after police were called to a home in the 100 block of Hillside Drive shortly before 11 p.m. A witness told officers a man and woman were fighting, and the man appeared to have knife, Prasifka said.

Police found a 68-year-old woman screaming at Fuentes, who was walking away with the knife, he said. Police were able to detain Fuentes and found a large kitchen knife entangled in bush decoration outside the front of the home, he said.

Officers determined Fuentes had hit the woman and had displayed the knife during the attack, Prasifka said.

Fuentes was arrested on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was released from McLennan County Jail on a $20,000 bond Thursday afternoon.
