At least one person was in critical condition and several were injured after a wreck on Interstate 35 involving multiple vehicles, according to Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton.
Two of the three southbound lanes on I-35 remained closed at about 9 p.m. Saturday night.
Waco fire crews worked to remove people from a passenger vehicle, and multiple semis were involved, according to a post by Swanton.
Officials are telling drivers to find an alternative route and expect delays.
Police responded to the wreck at about 6:30 p.m. The wreck was north of the Brazos River, police said.
Immediately after the wreck, all southbound lanes had been closed starting at Waco Drive.
