A Mart High School football player was jailed Friday in connection with a home break-in and theft of weapons, officials said.

Brun-Tae Parr, 18, was charged with burglary of a habitation and booked in to the McLennan County Jail.

Mart High School Coach Rusty Nail said he took Parr, who was a reserve running back and linebacker, to the Mart police station when he discovered the charges.

Nail said in a statement he notified school authorities and Parr was subsequently removed from Mart’s athletics program.

Nail said in his statement he was “sorry for the black eye it will place on our community and program.”

Parr’s bond had not been set by Friday afternoon.
