Employee volunteers from the Domtar Corporation’s personal care manufacturing facility in Waco visited Rapoport Academy Elementary School’s East Campus recently to donate and read new books to the school’s children as part of its partnership with First Book.

Domtar employees read to 200 children at Rapoport in prekindergarten, kindergarten and first-grade classes. With more than 240 books donated through the grant provided by Domtar, each child was given a book to take home. The remaining books were divided among the teachers for their class libraries.

Domtar makes a wide variety of everyday products from sustainable wood fiber, and is one of the world’s largest producers of a line of absorbent hygiene solutions. The Waco manufacturing facility is one of the company’s primary producers of baby diapers and employs nearly 200 people in the community.
