The Lake Waco Wetlands will host a free Community Fishing Day Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Nora’s Pond in the Lake Waco Wetlands, 1752 Eichelberger Crossing Road.
The pond will be stocked with loads of catfish, plus hot dogs and other refreshments will be provided.
Children younger than 17 do not need a fishing license. Adults must have a fishing license with a freshwater stamp. Pole and line only, limit two poles per person (limited rods and reels available for loan). There is a five-fish limit.

The 15th annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s takes place Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. at Brazos Park East, a new location for the event.
The opening ceremony begins at 9 a.m. and the walk at 9:30 a.m.
Pro-Life Waco meets Sunday at the St. Mary’s Parish Hall, 1424 Columbus Ave.
The noon meeting will feature outreach updates on the ongoing 40 Days of Life prayer vigil at Planned Parenthood.

Earth Science Week
The Mayborn Museum Complex celebrates Earth Science Week on Monday through Friday with hands-on activities daily from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Join us as we celebrate Earth Science Week, an annual national program that promotes awareness of what geoscience tells us about human interaction with the planet’s natural systems and processes.
Museum visitors are invited to engage with Baylor professors and students each day and explore learning resources and activities related to a theme within Earth Sciences. Activities are included in the price of admission. Museum members and Baylor University students receive free admission.
