The Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization and Waco Transit System are asking for public input on their Waco Rapid Transit Corridor study alternatives and draft evaluation results.

The goal is to provide faster transit service to the places residents, students and visitors want to go.

An open forum for interested stakeholders will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Waco Transit Administrative Building, 301 S. Eighth St., followed by an open house for public feedback from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dewey Community Center, 925 N. Ninth St.

‘Faith in the Workplace’

PacMoore CEO Bill Moore will give a talk titled “Faith in the Workplace and Marketplace” at 4 p.m. Thursday in Room 250 at Baylor University’s Paul L. Foster building, 1621 S. Third St.

Early Texas buildings

Kenneth Hafertepe, chair of Baylor University’s department of museum studies, will lecture on early Texas buildings, including Waco buildings, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Hoffmann House., 810 S. Fourth St. His lecture is free and open to the public.

NARFE meeting

The local chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the West Waco Library meeting room, 5301 Bosque Blvd.

Retired IRS agent Lynn Parent will give a talk titled “If You Get a Letter from the IRS...”

All federal active and retired employees are welcome.

Compassion Ministries fundraiser

Compassion Ministries will host its Giving Thanks, Giving Hope Banquet on Thursday at Phoenix Ballroom, 401 S. Third St.

Compassion Ministries provides transitional housing for homeless families. The banquet is the group’s only annual fundraiser.
