Chipping of the Green

Keep Waco Beautiful, in partnership with Waco Parks and Recreation, is having its annual Chipping of the Green Christmas tree recycling from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Paul Tyson Field, 1901 Lake Air Drive.

Anyone, regardless of city of residence, is invited to recycle a tree.

Spirit Bells recital

Spirit Bells, winner of the 2017 Handbell Award from the National Federation of Music Clubs, will perform a short recital Saturday as part of the Waco Euterpean Club’s celebration of 124 years of continuous involvement in promoting music.

Animal shelter donations

Waco’s Cobbs Recycling Center, 2021 N. 44th St., will serve as a drop-off point for items needed by the Waco Animal Shelter. Customers can bring gently used blankets, sheets or towels as well as new items such as paper towels, bleach, dog and cat food and even dog houses and metal pet dishes.
