The National Weather Service will be offering a free SKYWARN severe weather class from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the McLennan County Emergency Services Education Center in Waco. The program is being held in partnership with Waco-McLennan County Emergency Management.
The class is free, and no early registration is necessary. It is for organized storm spotters or for anyone with an interest in severe weather. The class is part of a regional severe weather preparedness campaign, which will include spotter training sessions across 46 counties in North and Central Texas. The Greater Waco Chamber and the Greater Waco Aviation Alliance will host the 10th annual Freedom Ball from 6 to 11 p.m. March 24 at the Waco Convention Center. The event provides an opportunity to honor past and present military personnel and gold star families.

The Waco Euterpean Music Club is selling raffle tickets for its 2018 Dessert Raffle. The drawing will be Saturday. Tickets cost $1 each or $5 for 6.
Winners get a dessert serving 8 to 12 people delivered each month for a year. The money from the raffle goes to the club’s scholarship fund.
