Texas Department of State Health Services will launch a new mental health awareness campaign, “Speak Your Mind Texas,” focused on teens and young adults, from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Auditorium, 100 Hillcrest Medical Blvd.
The free event will include mental health professionals, young people seeking or in treatment, and community stakeholders discussing mental health issues affecting the community.

Northwest Waco Rotary Club will host its annual “Beach Party” fundraiser from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at Knox Hall in the Texas Ranger Museum. The evening will feature music by The Morticians, dinner from Vitek’s, and a silent auction.
Ticket cost is $30.
Proceeds will benefit Texas State Technical College and McLennan Community College scholarships and other Rotary projects.

The Animal Birth Control Clinic will offer free neuter surgeries during the month of August for any male cat age 4 months or older.
Surgeries are by appointment only.
A rabies vaccination is $10.

The McLennan County Soil and Water Conservation District will have a local work group meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Natural Resources Conservation Service office, 5040 S. Loop 340.
The meeting will focus on what conservation practices should be included in McLennan County EQIP cost-share program for 2015.
