Waco Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Approximately 1 in 10 seniors over 65 suffer from Alzheimer’s, a fatal
disease that affects the ability to remember, think and plan. Join
us walking to increase awareness and raise funds for dementia care,
education and research.

Newcomers & Neighbors
Club of Waco

The ladies organization of Newcomers and Neighbors of Waco invites
any and all women of the Central Texas area to join us on September
18th at 11:30 for lunch at the Ridgewood Country Club. Doors open at
11:00 a.m. Cost for lunch is $25.00, payable by cash or check.
Our guest speaker will be Nicole Omo with State Farm Insurance. She
will address estate planning and how to maximize retirement years.
We look forward to this informative program.

Friends for Life has spent the last several months collecting hundreds
of used tools to stock the organization’s new tool thrift shop called The
Tool Shed at 430 Lake Air Dr. in Waco. A festive Grand Opening is set
for Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with food, a raffle, door
prizes and more. Everyone’s invited to drop by.
The shop is now open Thursdays and Fridays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and
Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Profits from the new shop will provide
on-going funding for the vital services Friends for Life provide for local
elderly and people with disabilities.
To donate used tools or volunteer your time please email tools@ or call Easton Preston at 254-772.8100, ext 501.
Friends for Life accepts home repair and building tools, working and
non-working; hardware such as screws, nails, cabinet and drawer pulls
and hinges; gasoline powered tools and craft materials. Donations can
be made during store hours and on Wednesdays, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Pick
up is available for large donations. All donations are tax deductible
within the limits of the law.
