Hicks ~ Solmonson

Skye Blue Solmonson and Charles Edgar Hicks were united in marriage on Thursday, June 2, 2016 in a private ceremony. The wedding was held at the Fuller Garden at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth, Texas. The Reverend Kevin Johnson officiated the ceremony. A rehearsal dinner was held on the eve of the wedding at Times Ten Cellars. The reception immediately followed the ceremony at the Gardens Restaurant.
Skye Solmonson is the daughter of Christi Wherry and Don Solmonson of Arlington, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Jeanette Tims and the late Charles Tims of Arlington, Texas, and the late Roy and Joyce Solmonson of Calumet, Michigan. Skye is a 2004 graduate of Lamar High School and graduated Summa Cum Laude from U.T. Arlington with a B.A. in English and History. She is employed as an Editor at Business Wire in Addison, Texas.
Charles Hicks is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Hicks of Waco, Texas and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Easley and Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hicks of Waco, Texas. Charlie is a 2004 graduate of Midway High School and received his B.A. in English from Texas Tech University in 2008. In addition, he obtained an M.A. in English from U.T. Permian Basin in 2010 and a Ph.D. in English from U.T. Arlington in 2015. He is currently teaching at U.T. Arlington.
The maid of honor was Stephanie Amate of Dallas, Texas, and the best man was George Easley of Houston, Texas.
Following a honeymoon to San Francisco and Mendocino/Ft. Bragg in Northern California, the couple will reside in Arlington, Texas.
