Texas country singer (and Lorena native) Holly Tucker had plenty to sing about last Friday, more than the usual Friday night show: Tucker took home four awards from the East Texas Music Awards held Sept. 8 in Bullard.
Tucker was nominated in seven categories and walked off with some major ones. She was named Female Vocalist of the Year while her song "You're In Texas" won Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Video of the Year.
She's following that up Tuesday night, Sept. 12, with a bucket list item: singing the National Anthem at the Texas Rangers-Seattle Mariners game in Arlington.
September may have more awards in store. She's nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year and Best Album ("Steel") honors at the Texas Country Music Association, which hands out its annual awards Sept. 28 at Carthage.
