MagnoliaStorybook

The latest front in Chip and Joanna Gaines’ multimedia success opens today, March 14, the first day to order the “Fixer Upper” couple’s upcoming book “The Magnolia Story.”

Co-written by the Gaineses and writer Mark Dagostino, “The Magnolia Story” provides the history behind the couple of HGTV’s hit remodeling/home decor series and more, although loyal fans likely have heard much of this before in the series and related coverage.

The book won’t hit stores until Oct. 18, but both Amazon.com (http://amzn.to/1Uu2gfo) and ChristianBook.com (http://bit.ly/1SNSIMh) started taking orders today.

The teaser that’s on Amazon.com promises such tidbits as Chip’s experience buying a houseboat without first seeing it; images from the Gaineses’ wedding; why the word “magnolia” is significant; the Gaineses’ experience as entrepreneurs; Joanna’s decision to step away from her dream business to raise her children and her later epiphany in how to create a beautiful home; and how they’re sharing their “Fixer Upper” success with others, boosting Waco in the process.

The hardcover version is 240 pages long — not sure how that translates in the Kindle version, which is also available.

With an October release date, I’m imagining it will be a hot seller for Baylor Homecoming, then Christmas. It’ll also be one way to pass the time in the lines at the Silos . . .
