McLennan Community College’s men desire to play a wide-open game, but the Highlanders showed on Tuesday that they can win a grind-it-out game, too.

MCC held off Bossier Parrish, 78-70, in a foul-plagued game at The Highlands. The Highlanders (7-1) used a 15-1 run late in the second half to open up a 10-point lead and pull away.

Jashawn Talton led the Highlanders with 17 points. Javen Hedgeman and Antoine Banks added 13 and 11, respectively.

The Highlanders travel to Fort Hood Thursday to take on the Phantom Warriors at 7 p.m.
