One of the world’s biggest junior golf tournaments is nearly two decades old.
Yes, it’s Starburst time again.
The 19th annual Starburst Junior Golf Classic tees off Monday, and will run through Wednesday at four Central Texas golf courses.
As many as 600 players, ages 7-17, will compete at Cottonwood Creek, Lake Waco, Ridgewood and Stonetree Country Club in Belton.
The tournament is part of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Performance Based Entry process, enabling the top finishers in the 12-17 age divisions to receive AJGA performance stars. The event is also somewhat unique in that it allows parents to caddy for their children.
