Waco team heads to Little Dribblers national tourney

The Doris Miller Family YMCA Chargers will compete in the 11- and 12-year-old Little Dribblers national tournament this week in Fairfield.

The Chargers advanced to nationals by winning the regional tournament March 25-27 in Mexia.

They open nationals today against Bryan at 4:45 p.m. The championship game will be held Saturday.

More than 80 teams are in three age groups are expected to compete this week.

The Chargers are Parrish Cobb, Timothy Wilkerson, Umoja Gibson, Nicholas Ward, Muhhammed Warhead, Tavian Harris, Moses Chase, Chiddy Nwaeze, Brandon Benson and Joseph Ward.

The coaches are Collis Cobb and Jeremy Hicks.
