Professional disc golf returns to Central Texas with the Waco Charity Open slated for Thursday through Saturday at Brazos Park East.

The Waco Charity Open has been on the scene for years, but it marks just the second year that it has been linked with the Disc Golf Pro Tour. Played on Brazos Park East’s challenging 18-hole course nicknamed “The Beast,” the tournament offered up a playoff ending, with Jeremy Koling defeating James Conrad. Both of those players will be back this year, along with other top pros like Paul McBeth and Kevin Jones.

Paige Pierce dominated in winning the women’s title last year by seven throws. She has also returned to try to defend her title.

The tournament also features an amateur division. At 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Team Dynamic Discs will provide a free clinic for interested players. Tournament action starts at 7 a.m. both Friday and Saturday.
