Kevin Gill’s 16th-ranked McLennan Community College Highlanders will get a chance to avenge their only loss of the season on Thursday.
MCC will travel to Dallas Baptist University for a neutral-site meeting with New Mexico Junior College (10-3). It’ll mark the second neutral-site clash of the year between the two teams, as the Thunderbirds defeated MCC, 79-74, at the Hill College Classic on Nov. 10.
The Highlanders (14-1) have ripped off nine straight wins since that blemish, topping 100 points in five of those games. MCC’s leading scorer on the season is freshman Xavier Armstead of Midway, who is averaging 14.4 points on 51.2 percent shooting and who had 20 points in the first meeting with New Mexico.
