CISCO — When JayLonn Walker drained a 3-pointer on the first possession of the game, it just seemed like it was going to be a good night for the McLennan Community College Highlassies.
It turned out that way, as MCC rolled to their second straight conference win, turning back Cisco, 73-50, on Wednesday night.
MCC (9-7, 2-0) busted out to a 17-5 lead after a quarter and had the game in hand from the get-go. Even a 9-2 run by Cisco (6-10, 0-2) late in the game with MCC’s backups on the court didn’t mean much to the final outcome.
KeeKee Nowlin hit for 14 points for the Highlassies, while Shankia Clark added 10. Traeli Calhoun topped Cisco with 11.
MCC returns to the court on Saturday, hosting Southwestern Christian at 2 p.m. as the opener of a doubleheader with the MCC-SWCC men.
