LANCASTER — The McLennan Community College men’s basketball team ran out to its ninth win in 10 games this season, dimming the Cedar Valley Suns, 101-71, on Tuesday.
Playing its final game before a Thanksgiving break, MCC (9-1) came out running from the outset, as freshman Xavier Armstead got loose for a layup less than 20 seconds into the game. The Highlanders built a 30-point lead by the halftime break, 53-23.
Seven different players found double digits in the scoreboard for MCC – led by Aaron Gregg and Javen Hedgeman with 14 points each. Jashawn Talton and Antoine Banks scored 13 and 12, respectively. Armstead added 11, and Jordan Skipper-Brown and Sasa Vuksanvic scored 10 each.
The Highlanders will next play Concordia University’s JV in Austin on Sunday.
