DALLAS – Sophomores Jaylonn Walker and Velma Mitchell combined for 38 points as the McLennan Community College women snapped a five-game losing slide with a 75-64 win over Paul Quinn College’s JV on Tuesday.

Walker scored 20 and Mitchell, the reigning conference player of the year, added 18 as MCC took control with a strong third quarter, turning a six-point halftime lead into a 12-point advantage heading into the fourth.

Former La Vega standout Shekenia Green chipped in eight for MCC (7-7), which will host Ranger at 2 p.m. Saturday in its conference opener.
