The weather was cold and getting colder, but the McLennan Community College softball team kept things hot at the Bosque River Ballpark. The Highlassies gained an 11-1 run-rule win against San Jacinto Saturday.

In a game that featured mostly singles and doubles, MCC managed to score six in the second inning and four in the fourth. That, coupled with one run in the first, was enough to bring the win after five innings.

Victoria Vasquez got the win for the ‘Lassies.

The team will play Navarro Wednesday in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at the Bosque River Ballpark.
