Divide and conquer – that’s what the McLennan Community College men’s golf team was able to do at the Dr Pepper Classic.

MCC’s orange team won the tournament, which wrapped up Tuesday at Twin Rivers Golf Club, while the MCC blue squad tied for third. The orange bunch shot rounds of 298 and 296 for a 594 total and a 17-stroke victory. Ranger finished second at 307-306-613, while MCC’s blue carded rounds of 319-301-620, tying for third with Hutchinson (313-307-620).

Freshman Matt Lorentzen of MCC won the individual title. He followed an opening-round 75 with a beautiful round of 66 on Tuesday for a 141 total. His teammates Judd Tilson (76-72-148) and Alex Isakson (73-77-150) took second and third, respectively.
