The McLennan Community College baseball and softball teams have the attention of the coaches who know them better than most. The North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) Coaches Preseason Poll has Highlander baseball favored to win their third conference championship in a row, while the Highlassies softball is expected to finish second behind Temple.

MCC baseball won their conference last year with a 26-6 record. They also won the Region V Tournament for a second trip to the JUCO World Series. The team finished in fifth at the World Series, and had a season record of 52-13.

The Highlassies are expected to build of their 21-11 conference record last year. The team completed the regular season in fourth place, and went 2-2 in the Region V tournament. The season record was 39-19.
