It’s good to be home. McLennan Community College’s baseball team returned to the Bosque River Ballpark Monday where they beat Blinn in a come-from-behind 6-3 win.

Blinn started the scoring with two runs in the top of the first inning. The Buccaneers loaded the bases and scored their runs on a passed ball and a single.

MCC scored a run in the bottom of the fourth, and Blinn added one more run in the top of the eight.

The eighth inning proved to be the Highlanders’ inning as they scored five runs. Four of the runs came on an infield homer hit by Chase Sortor.

The Highlanders (13-5) begin conference play Wednesday with a doubleheader at Hill College. The first game is scheduled to start at noon.
