Midway’s volleyball team is putting together an impressive run through the nondistrict portion of the schedule, and the Pantherettes are ranked No. 1 in Class 6A in the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association’s state poll.
Not only that, but Midway (24-2) is ranked No. 2 nationally in MaxPrep’s national volleyball poll. The Pantherettes, who feature five Division I commits, will return to the court on Tuesday at home against Class 5A’s sixth-ranked Waxahachie. Midway won the Leander Tournament over the weekend, with Allye Beth Deaton winning tourney MVP honors.
Elsewhere in the TGCA rankings, Crawford sits at No. 7 in the Class 1A/2A division, while Kopperl is at No. 12. West owns the No. 15 ranking in 3A, and Lorena is No. 14 in 4A.
