Vanguard announced Thursday the promotion of Stephen Brough to boys’ basketball coach and the hiring of Greta Knoll to lead the tennis program.
Brough was an assistant for the Vikings last season, when they were 26-5 and advanced to the second round of the TAPPS 3A playoffs. Brough came to Vanguard after 14 years of Division I college coaching, including as the director of basketball operations at Baylor.
Knoll has served as the general manager for the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Mo., and a territory manager for Dunlop Sports and Reebok International. She also served for five years as the executive director of the Texas Tennis Museum and Hall of Fame.
She played at the No. 1 position at Hamline University, and is the wife of Matt Knoll, who has been Baylor’s men’s tennis coach for the past 18 seasons and led the Bears to the national championship in 2004.
