Local high school girls brought home six medals from the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Championship.

Gatesville’s Raven Massey (165-pound) and Bremond’s Alexis Kinney (132-pound) earned silver medals for their performances.

Massey lifted a combined 875 pounds. Her 175-pound bench press was tops in her weight class. by 10 pounds.

Kinney lifted 755 pounds with 155 pounds on the bench press being the top lift in her class.

Hillsboro’s Jazmyn Washington finished third at the 97-pound class with her 655 total pounds only five off the top spot. Teammate Diana Platas also captured third place in the 181-pound class. She had the highest squat total for her weight.

McGregor’s Danielle Kelley squatted 325 pounds for tops in the 132-pound division, but settled for third overall with a total lift of 77o pounds.

Moody’s Bethany Brunell dominated the 220-pound class on the bench press with 220 pounds which was best by 35 pounds. She would finish third overall.
