Keziah Bachert, a 5-foot-8 guard and junior at Midway, verbally committed to continue her basketball career at Texas State.
Bachert received honorable mention all-district honors last season. This summer, Bachert played with Elite III out of Dallas. She played alongside the Super Centex Player of the Year Mystique Womack and LaVega standout Ta’Nayia Norwood. Bachert, however, injured her knee late in the summer and underwent surgery.
“As anyone who has or will go through the recruiting process knows, it is truly an honor,” Bachert wrote in an email. “I’ve learned so much from all the coaches I’ve spoken to and the colleges I’ve visited. All of them have been top-notch. ... After prayerful consideration, discussing with my family, coaches, and mentors, I have great peace and excitement to announce I’m committing to play basketball and attend Texas State University. Thank you to everyone who has supported, helped, and guided me in this process, the best is yet to come.”
