PALESTINE — Bremond’s run of state titles had to end at some point.

Timpson slowed down the Tigers’ high-powered attack and ended Bremond’s quest at a fourth consecutive state championship in the Class 2A Division I area playoffs. It was the first playoff loss since the 2013 season.

Bremond (10-2) trailed 14-3 late in the third quarter, but Kaidyn Peralez scored on a 13-yard run with time winding down in the third to pull the Tigers to within a field goal. Yet the comeback stopped there, as neither defense yielded a point in the final quarter.
